On May 6, 2025, the 10th edition of the painting competition titled “Japan through Lebanese Eyes”, organized by LEBAJICA, was held at Al Amrousiyah First Mixed Public School in Choueifat under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Mr. Magoshi Masayuki, Ambassador of Japan to Lebanon. The event was organized in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), represented by Mrs. Zeina Khalaf Helou.
As in previous years, the competition aimed to introduce Japanese art and culture to Lebanese students, fostering cross-cultural appreciation through creativity. The event commenced with a welcoming speech by Mrs. Fatimah Chuker, representative of the school’s director, followed by remarks from LEBAJICA President Eng. Kamal Mokdad, JICA Office Coordinator Mrs. Zeina Khalaf Helou, and Ambassador Magoshi.
In his address, Ambassador Magoshi praised the students’ artistic efforts, emphasizing how their work reflects a profound cultural bond between Japan and Lebanon. He affirmed the Embassy’s continued support for initiatives that promote youth engagement, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding.
The jury panel—comprising members from LEBAJICA, JICA, the Japanese Embassy, and the host school—evaluated the artworks with great care. Winners received educational and cultural prizes from LEBAJICA, while all participating students were honored with Certificates of Appreciation.
This vibrant celebration of art and cultural dialogue once again highlighted the shared values and friendship between Japan and Lebanon.
