LEBAJICA is pleased to inform you that the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is extending its support to the Lebanese public sector through the provision of Official Development Assistantships (ODAs). This initiative is designed to meet the diverse needs of the Lebanese public sector departments, fostering collaboration with graduates of the JICA Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP).
The primary objective of these assistantships is to facilitate and support projects proposed by interested JICA KCCP Graduates within various Lebanese public sector departments. By doing so, JICA aims to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Lebanon.
Eligibility for the Official Development Assistantships is contingent upon the alignment of proposed projects with both JICA policies, and the official policies of the respective Lebanese organizations involved. Furthermore, these projects should address specific demand-based needs within the Lebanese public sector, emphasizing the importance of fulfilling critical requirements for the country’s development.
A key stipulation for project eligibility is the inclusion of a substantial soft-component, underscoring the importance of comprehensive and sustainable solutions. JICA recognizes the significance of integrating social and cultural aspects into projects to ensure a well-rounded and enduring impact on the targeted communities.
Interested participants are invited to submit a detailed concept note of their proposed projects for consideration. This concept note will serve as the basis for shortlisting after rigorous evaluation by JICA.
Additionally, we would like to note that, in select cases, JICA may offer a small-scale financial assistantship in the form of a grant to support the proposed project, should it be selected.
